Robert W. Chambers (1865–1933) was an American author best known for The King in Yellow, a collection of weird and supernatural tales that influenced early horror and cosmic fiction. Blending mystery, decadence, and the uncanny, the book became a cult classic and inspired writers like H. P. Lovecraft. Chambers also wrote romances and historical fiction. Many of his works are now in the public domain.
