Descartes' epic works, including Philosophical Works, have always been in the public domain. This ensures they remain freely accessible for new adaptations and creative projects. Let’s celebrate Descartes' timeless influence and the value of public domain literature!
René Descartes (1596–1650) was a French philosopher, mathematician, and scientist, often called the father of modern philosophy. Best known for the statement “I think, therefore I am,” his work Meditations on First Philosophy explores doubt, reason, and existence. Descartes also made major contributions to mathematics and science. His influential writings are now in the public domain.
