Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948) was an Indian lawyer, spiritual leader, and activist who led the nonviolent struggle for India’s independence from British rule. His philosophy of satyagraha (truth-force) inspired civil rights movements worldwide. Gandhi’s writings, including The Story of My Experiments with Truth, reflect his ideals of peace, justice, and self-discipline. His works are in the public domain.
