Ludwig Wittgenstein’s works are in the public domain in Europe. He died in 1951, so his books will enter the public domain there in 2022 (life + 70). In Mexico, the country with the world’s longest term (life + 100), they will enter the public domain in 2051. Let’s celebrate public domain literature!
Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951) was an Austrian-British philosopher who profoundly influenced logic, language, and epistemology. His major works, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus and Philosophical Investigations, explored the limits of language and meaning. Wittgenstein’s ideas shaped analytic philosophy, questioning how language structures thought and reality. His early works are now in the public domain
