Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860–1935) was an American writer, feminist, and social reformer best known for The Yellow Wallpaper, a groundbreaking short story on women’s mental health and oppression. Her works, including Herland and Women and Economics, championed gender equality and economic independence. Gilman’s influential writings on feminism and social reform are now in the public domain.
