Aesop’s fables have always been in the public domain — he lived over 2,500 years ago, long before copyright laws existed. Let’s celebrate public domain literature!
Aesop (c. 6th century BCE) was an ancient Greek storyteller believed to have created a collection of fables that teach moral lessons through animals and simple tales. Famous stories like The Tortoise and the Hare and The Fox and the Grapes have been passed down for generations across cultures. Though little is known about his life, Aesop’s timeless fables are firmly in the public domain.
